 Shehecheyanu Blessing

(Only during Holidays/Simchas)

LEADER: (Asks Daughter of Zion to say the Shehecheyanu Blessing to thank God for enabling us to reach this season.)

Reader: Baruch ata, ADONAI Eloheinu, Malekh ha‘Olam, she-hecheyanu, ve-ki-ye-manu, ve-higianu lazman ha-zeh.

Congregation: Ahmain

Reader: Blessed are You, O L-rd our G-d, King of the Universe, for keeping us alive, taking care of us, and bringing us to this time.

Congregation: Amen.

Barchu

The Barchu is the first of the formal “B’rachas” or blessings of the evening service.  It is an ancient and Biblical form of worship.  B’rachas release Spiritual power, and our families and our relationship to the L-rd will be greatly enhanced by our use of Blessings in our homes and services.

LEADER: Barchu et ADONAI HaM’vorach.

Congregation: Baruch ADONAI HaM’vorach l’olam va’ed.

LEADER: Bless the L-rd, the blessed One.

Congregation: Blessed is the L-rd, the blessed One for all eternity.

V’ShamrU

The V’shamru gives us the Scriptural basis to
celebrate the Shabbat and to keep it holy.
(Exodus 31:16-17)

LEADER: Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

Congregation: Six days shall you labor and do all your work.

LEADER: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the
L-
rd your  G-d; in it you shall not do any work.

Congregation: For in six days the L-rd made the heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; that is why the L-rd blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

LEADER: Speak also unto the children of Isra’el
saying:  Above all, My Sabbaths you shall keep; for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your
generations, that you may know that I am the L-
rd Who sanctifies you.

Sh’ma

(Deuteronomy 6:4)

Said Standing, Facing toward Jerusalem

Sh’ma Yisra’el,
Adonai Eloheinu.
Adonai Echad.
Baruch Shem kevod
Malkhuto l’olam va’ed.
Yeshua, Hu Ha’Mashiach,
Hu Adon hakol.

Hear O Isra’el,
The L-
rd is our G-d.
The L-
rd is One.
Blessed is the Name of
His glorious kingdom for all eternity.
Yeshua, He is the Messiah,
and He is L-
rd over all.

V’ahavta

(Deuteronomy 6:5-9)

And you shall love the L-rd your G-d,
with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your might.
And have these words, which I command you this day, shall be upon your heart.

And you shall teach them diligently
to your children,
and speak of them when you sit in your house,
when you walk by the way, when you retire,
and when you arise.

And you shall bind them for a sign
upon your hand
and let them be frontlets between your eyes.
And you shall write them on the doorposts
of your house and upon your gates.

Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d

Aytz chayeem
(it is a tree of life)

It is a tree of life to those who take hold of it,
and those who support it are praiseworthy.
Its ways are ways of pleasantness
and all its paths are peace.
Bring us back L-
rd to You, and we shall come.
Renew our days as of old.
